The National Construction Code allows for Section J compliance using a range of assesment methods – your project should take advantage of this! The “Deemed to Satisfy” (DTS) method is best for most projects, even many complex commercial builds. The JV3 method will give you more flexibility in architectural design, and can also achieve significant build-cost savings.

NCC Legislation
Energy Efficiency requirements for all Australian Residential and Commercial buildings are set out in the National Construction Code (NCC). This code is updated every three years by the Australian Building Codes Board, and is adopted with some minor additions by each of the States & Territories.
BERA stays up to date with all major and minor updates to the National Construction Code to ensure our reports effectively show you how to achieve compliance for your project.
